4 Things Gardening Taught Me About Investing Money

Gardening and investing money go together. Down here in Savannah, it’s hot and sunny. Sure we have some cold months, but we are more used to the scorching sun. Our gardens love constant attention, without which you will come back and get a lot of stubble grass. Getting rid of the stubble is quite a daunting task. You need the strength of Hercules if you want to clear a large garden full of grass and weeds and in the hot sun. So what’s the big deal about it? Getting started!

1 Investing Money Starts Today

Investing your money starts right now if you want to reap the benefits tomorrow. And tomorrow is never far. You may think buying stock and shares will hold your hard-earned cash for too long. But, every new day you wake up, you count down fewer days to the New Year.

Every morning or any chance I get to scout my garden, I never leave behind weeds or grass, either growing in the containers or the raised garden beds. My goal is to pull it out and forget about it. By removing the competing plants, my target plants can easily thrive and give me fruits. When you get money, know that there will be competing purposes. Some new shoes or a new scarf that you don’t even need can quickly finish your investment money. So to protect your money, invest it where you can reap returns in the future. Just put the money away in an investment vehicle and let it run its course. Forget about out. Give your money a chance to grow.

2 Age is Irrelevant to Investing Money

You are never too young or too old to invest money. I guess a hurdle to investing is an unfounded fear that it’s too hard to start investing money. Or uninformed thinking that investing money is for older folks. Wrong! You can start investing money from any age. As a parent, I’m investing money monthly for my son. The return on investment (ROI) can help pay his college fees, or it can be start-up capital for his business. After research, I bought some stocks in a growing company, and I’m not in a hurry to cash out. I take time to study what is happening in the market and make informed choices. I know it will be sweet money when I can finally cash out the returns.

3 No Money is too little to Invest

No seed is too little to plant in my garden. No money is too small to invest. Investing money doesn’t need you to come across a sack of dollars. Your quarter or $10 bill can start you off in your investment journey. I have a seed bank where I save tiny small seeds. Once I’m ready to plant them, I can start them indoors in containers. Once they have grown their true leaves and are ready for transplanting, they can survive harsh conditions outside. Start saving your little money $10 or $20 indoors, and don’t be ashamed about it. Well, you can’t collect the “little” money every day on the roadside. So why should you think that it’s too little? Later on, you can accumulate the cash and get the investment of your choice. When it comes to investing money, no amount is too little.

4 Re-Investing Pays in the Long Run

Once in a while, I always leave some of my garden plants to produce seeds. The beauty of this process is getting more seed for my garden projects, which I didn’t have to spend an extra dime to access. For example, onion seeds are damn expensive. I let some of my onion plants go to the seeding stage, and later I can harvest them and stock them up in my seed bank. Next time I’m ready to plant onions, I will get cheap seeds from my seed bank. Gardening is like investing money. It’s more profitable to re-invest the little returns along the way. I take it as free money that I didn’t have to do anything extra to get it. The money came without clocking in more hours at my 9 to 5 job. Keep on re-investing your returns if you have no urgent needs for the money.

Well, there you have it. My first blog is up and running. It’s a door to many more blogs about investing money, saving money, making money online, passive income sources, and many more. I would love to hear from you. What are your thoughts on investing $10?

Have a lovely investing money day, will you?

Yours Truly,

Your self-confessed nature-loving girlfriend!
